The first episode, I spoke about your story around leadership. And today we are talking about why leadership is so important.
So when you started your online business, you might not have really thought about leadership and why becoming a leader is so important when starting your own business. But becoming a leader is really important in having your own business. And here's why...
First, having good leadership brings clarity to your audience, to your team, and to your clients. Everyone functions better when there's good clarity in leadership. There's a lot that has been said that a quality employees hire you before you hire them. And that means that "A" level employees can already tell if you are an "A" level employer. So when you are ready to hire someone, if your leadership is anything less than "A" level, an "A' level employee won't even consider working at your company.
And in order to have a business that runs at its best, you need those "A" level employees, "A" level employees might cost more on the payroll, but they bring in more revenue being a more cost-effective and overall better choice. That's the type of people we want on our team.
Second, becoming a leader in your business will help you to inspire and motivate others to join in your vision. Leadership is more about inspiration and motivation more than it is about authority empower because we lead by example. If you are not passionate about your vision, it'll be hard for others to be passionate about it as well.
And third, good leadership boosts morale. When a leader loves their team and is leading well, it just helps people to feel better. I think we know that feeling good about the work that you're doing outweighs the paycheck. It's why many people leave their high-paying jobs in order to do something that pays less, if they're feeling good about what they're doing, that helps them want to be there and want to show up and do the work.
Everyone wants to feel good and a sense of purpose about what they're doing. So, these are just a few reasons about why leadership is so important. And in the next episode, I'm going to be sharing about how to be a good leader. Some people are naturally born good leaders. But it is something that can be learned as well.
And so if we pay attention and we can lean into some of these qualities of how to be a good leader, it is possible for you to have the team and the morale and the clarity and the leadership that's possible within your business.
