I've talked a lot on the show about all the benefits of being in a Mastermind and how so many successful people are in more than one Mastermind. But what I haven't talked a lot about are the benefits of leading your own profitable Mastermind. So if that's something you've been thinking about, please listen in to today's episode.
Music plays…
Welcome to the Breakthrough Mastermind Show. I'm your host, Jen Argue and I facilitate masterminds for women entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses to help others and create financial independence.
So you might be a longtime listener or you might be a first-time listener if this is your first time. I'm Jen Argue and 30 years ago I got my master's in clinical psychology and I got trained in how to lead groups really well with an understanding of group dynamics and how to be a good leader. And just through my own experience of leading. All kinds of groups, helping people get success from mental health to making more money in their business.
And from leading masterminds for the last five years, for entrepreneurs who are six and seven-figure earners, I have a lot of experience under my belt and masterminds have been a pure joy for me to be leading the past five years. And I would now, at this point, I've been asked for a long time, but now I would like to help others to do the same, and why do I want to help others do the same?
There are so many benefits that come from leading your own profitable mastermind. First of all, as a business owner, adding a mastermind to your lineup of offers is a really good move. If you have a lot of people in your audience, customers who want to be working with you one-on-one, but can't afford to work with you one-on-one, a really great next option for them.
That certain group of people who are the real go-getters around you to put them in a mastermind together creates an amazing synergy. For people like that, and it helps you to be the one to bring those types of people together because when you are that person that can bring those people together, incredible things happen.
A lot of amazing innovation comes out of it, and you really develop yourself as a leader when you're in that position. Being a leader in a mastermind really forces you to work on your facilitation skills, on your communication skills, and on your leadership skills, and all of those things really contribute to you being a leader in your field and your own personal development.
Another amazing thing about leading your own Mastermind is if you've been thinking about it, you're probably the type of person who really loves the industry that you're in. And by bringing together other people who are growing within your industry and are rising leaders, for you to bring them together can bring about some new innovations.
For you as well, because you'll get to hear all these other thoughts that are swirling around in people's minds and being talked about in the Mastermind, and that can inform your own work in your industry. Another benefit of leading a Mastermind as an industry leader is that the income that is produced from a mastermind is usually really good.
And especially for the time commitment that's required of you to put in it, really one of the most time-consuming parts of running your own Mastermind is the onboarding. It's filling it and onboarding, once it's going, it doesn't require a lot of time from you. A lot of the heavy lifting really is done by your skill in facilitating and letting each other and helping the group help each other.
And the more that you facilitate the group to connect and bond with each other, the more collaboration that can happen and innovation with projects and ideas. It's incredible the things that can come together out of these relationships because the people that masterminds tend to attract are the innovators, the disruptors, the go-getters, and when you put them in a room together, the ideas can be amazing and their action on those ideas can be extra amazing.
Another benefit to the mastermind leader is personal and professional growth. Just like people in the group who are going to be challenged and who are going to learn so much faster than on their own, just from getting other people's input and experiences and being able to weigh it against their own knowledge and experiences.
The same goes for you as a leader. The progress that happens, the decision-making that happens inside of a group structure is so much faster because of that incubator type of setting that not only do the people in the group reach conclusions more quickly, but even you as a group leader are going to grow so much faster in your personal and professional development especially so as a leader.
As we know with teachers, they learn so much faster than someone who's just learning, right? Because we always hear it's one thing to learn something, but if you have to teach it, you learn it in a much deeper way. And the same goes for facilitating, even though you might not be learning something specifically you will learn.
Whenever you're in that group with whatever the topic is, so it's really amazing for your own personal and professional development. Running a mastermind also does something amazing for your own business when you run a mastermind. There's this type of authority that gets attached to your brand. People start to see you as somebody who is a real influencer in your field, and they see you as your brand as maybe a little more desirable because you have enough influence to bring people together, the difference makers together.
And so, running your own Mastermind can actually give your brand a boost and help you to appear to really be a leader in your industry. I'm sure you are a leader in your industry, but it can really add to the brand image of you being a leader. And so putting together your own profitable Mastermind not only helps your bottom line, and it helps free up some time because you're not, it doesn't take a lot of time to run a Mastermind.
Like I said, the heavy lifting's more in the beginning, once it's running there's not a lot to do to keep it going in a really strong way other than when you're running the meeting, which takes a lot of skill. That's something that can be learned with good instruction, but it can help your like other areas in your business as well.
It could help with your coaching program. It could help with whatever else you're promoting. When people know that you have a Mastermind, it positions you in a way than if you didn't have one. One other aspect of leading a Mastermind that I just love with leading my Masterminds is that you get to be with all these people who really care about what they do, who really care about building their business, doing it in a way that is aligned, that's ethical, and that is inspiring because they like to challenge themselves.
They like to make a difference in their areas of the world, and what I always think is so wonderful, other than just having these great relationships with people is being able to do more fun things with them. To be able to have them on my podcast, to be able to do projects with them, to support them.
To collaborate in ways that the Mastermind specifically is bringing you together then if you weren't in a Mastermind together. So just knowing that you have the ability to add that to your business and that that adds to their business as well is an extra special bonus I think of putting together your own profitable Mastermind.
So, If You are still thinking about putting together your own profitable Mastermind, let me know. I am developing a course an A to Z manual with bonuses to help you feel like you are. Absolutely ready and confident to start your own profitable Mastermind. I want you, I want every business owner to be able to have their own Mastermind because there is something about bringing people together in a group, like a Mastermind structure that really catapults people's businesses and helps them grow and succeed.
We cannot do this alone. When you run alone, you don't get very far. But when you run with others, you can go so much farther, you get that support, you get the encouragement, you get the challenge, you get the understanding. There's something about when you feel like throwing in the towel and you're just over it, that when you talk to your Mastermind members, your co-members, there...it renews you, you hear that you're not alone, and that other people have had the same feelings, but have endured through those hard times and have come out even better on the other side.
And that can give you just...what you need to get through the low times, and also just being able to have those collaborations and to be able to have the support of other people who are achieving great things can help you achieve great things too. I've seen it in my own Masterminds like I said, people typically double their revenue each year.
Not because of any curriculum, but because of the group that I've curated and how I've run the group there is incredible...benefits to being in a Mastermind and to running your own Mastermind.
